Take a time out with this booze-less immune-boosting mocktail, made from hibiscus tea and fresh fruit. This hibiscus sangria is packed with antioxidants and- vitamin c to get your skin and your mood glowing which is perfect for those sluggish days. It is a beautiful drink to display at your next weekend barbeque or a brunch party with the girls.
Stays fresh in the fridge for up to four days. I like to keep the fruit separate and add it into my glass rather than the entire pitcher. This prevents the fruit from getting soggy and will keep the drink fresher for longer. If I’m making it for a crowd or a girl’s night in then I will add the fruit to a tall glass pitcher and put this beautiful immune-boosting mocktail on display. (For special occasions add the booze…)
What you will need:
1 Liter Of Water
6 Hibiscus Tea Bags, I use The Republic Of Tea
1 Cup Apple Juice
Fresh Squeeze Of Lemon & Orange
Diced Fresh Apple
3 tbsp of raw honey or agave (agave is sweeter so I would add till its desired sweetness)
Orange Slice & Mint For Garnish
Making this immune-boosting mocktail is super easy. Start by bringing water to a boil. Once it starts to boil then add the hibiscus tea bags and steep for 3-5 min. I pour the tea over ice in the pitcher and discard the tea bags. Since the tea mixture will be poured over ice I like to brew it a little stronger since the ice deludes the mixture slightly.
Add all the ingredients (excluding the fruit slices unless they will be consumed within the day) to the pitcher and give it a stir then place in the fridge to cool completely. I prefer to use freshly squeezed lemon juice and fresh juice of orange rather than concentrate it gives a more refreshing taste instead of a heavy sweetness from the concentrate. Once cooled pour over ice and top with sparkling water and garnish with a sprig of mint and enjoy. I really love glass pitchers they look so clean and elegant. Add this immune-boosting mocktail to it and serve on any occasion.
