Smores are so delicious and fun, especially around a campfire. The first thing I pack when going camping has to be the smores. My kids would never forgive me if I didn’t. Making campfire smores is easy and fun for the whole family to enjoy. You can make a large batch for everyone. Avoid the marshmallow disaster of roasting them on a stick by using a foil pan. Layering many little sweet sandwiches not only makes it easier but less of a mess.
Nothing says camping like smores does. Sometimes we like to switch it up and add a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup instead of milk chocolate. A Peppermint Patty, Snickers, Milky Way, or 3 Musketeer is yummy, too! You can substitute any melty candy for that matter. They actually make marshmallows with chocolate already in the middle now, genius!
What You Need To Make Smores
Graham Crackers
Chocolate bar (Hersheys)
Marshmallows (flat/square)
Tin foil
Foil pan
How To Make Smores
Start by layering your graham crackers on the bottom of a foil pan covered in baking spray. Next, you will top the crackers with your marshmallows. I like to use square ones. They are flatter and perfectly shaped for making smores. Add your chocolate bar, usually to pieces on top of the marshmallow. Last, top it off with another layer of crackers. Cover the pan with tin foil. Make sure you have a campfire rack to place over the campfire. Also, make sure to have heat-resistant extra long oven mitts. You will want to make sure the fire isn’t too blazing, you don’t want to burn your smores. Set the covered pan on the rack for 3-5 minutes. Be careful removing, as the pan will be hot. Allow for it to cool before touching.
Behold you will find the perfectly toasted smores. A pan of deliciousness awaits you. Everyone at the campfire will thank you. If you like this recipe be sure to check out our Dark Chocolate Chip Banana Bread and our Chocolate Salted Caramel Cupcakes.
